Jeg læste bogen, da jeg skal skrive et kapitel om grønlandsk LGBTQ+ litteratur. Noget der ikke er meget af, så jeg læser ca. 10 bøger der findes.
Denne er en krimi, men desværre ikke en speciel god en af slagsen. Personer vedbliver noverfladiske, og man lærer dem ikke nok til at forstå deres handlermøder og hvorfor tingene har udviklet sig som det gør i bogen. De er skabeloner der ikke bliver fyldt ud.
Den centrale krimihistorie er pludselig opklaret uden man rigtig får at vide, hvordan de har fundet frem til morderen. Det bliver nærmest bare en sidebemærkning uden en ordentlig forklaring.
Visse handlingselementer er overdrevne eller gjort sensationelle, hvilket ikke passer ind i de andre elementer. Og igen sker det uden det bliver forklaret ordentligt eller gjort meningsfuldt.

Det var interessant læse den med al den viden man nu har fra de efterfølgende 6 bøger + andet. Så denne gang kunne jeg ikke lide Dumbledore fra starten. Hans villighed (og lidt lyst?) til at manipulere og ofre Harry og lade ham lide er der allerede her i bog et.

Af en eller anden grund havde jeg misset denne bog i serien, da jeg læste Something like...serien, men det fik jeg så ordnet. Den er lige så god som de andre bøger i serien. Det var interessant at lære nogen af dem med mine gode eller såkaldt ordentlige liv at kende. Dem der er helt nede på bunden at vende. De er forskellige fra hovedpersonerne i de andre bøger i serien. De havde alle svære perioder i deres liv, men de nåede ikke helt så langt ned. Noah er et anderledes, men lige så spændende bekendskab som de andre bøgers hovedpersoner.

Kunne rigtig godt lide den, da det var to spændende personer at følge. Der skiftes mellem Connor's og David's synsvinkel, hvilket virker rigtig godt, da de er meget forskellige typer. Den ene er ham alle er bange for og den anden er mobbeoffer. Som de lærer hinanden at kende og læseren lærer dem at kende finder de og læseren ud af, at der altid er mere til de historier man hører om en person. Ingen er kun deres rygte.
